TDS Challan 281 Excel and PDF Format
TDS Challan 281 is a tax challan used in India to deposit tax deducted at source (TDS) by an employer. TDS is a way of collecting income tax from the source of income, in this case, the salary paid to employees. The employer is responsible for deducting TDS from the employee’s salary and depositing it with the government on the employee’s behalf. Challan 281 is used to deposit TDS for the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) and can be submitted online through the e-filing portal of the Income Tax Department. The challan must be accompanied by a TDS certificate, Form 16 or Form 16A, which provides details of the TDS deducted and deposited.
